Amusing Ourselves to Death (Neil Postman)

My hobby horse is the death of literacy and its implications for our civic lives. Postman is using TV in the 80s but social media only accelerates his arguments. I still think about his points about the importance of literary culture for political formation in the lead up to the civil war.
